| In
1993 Michael met with Archbishop Desmond Tutu when
he arrived for what was to be a two year
stay in South Africa. He was keenly interested in
Tutu's theology and was granted access to the Archbishop's unpublished
writings and speeches, which allowed him valuable insight into the man
and his work.
Out of the study and friendship which developed during that time and the years that followed, this collection of short thoughts and reflections emerged. Through the thoughts and meditations contained therein, the reader gets an awareness of the theology, spirituality, personal warmth and humor of this great man. This is a book which can be read in an hour and over a lifetime. It makes a wonderful gift for anyone seeking wisdom. |

| Tutu's
approach of mediation and acceptance in the face of conflict is combined
with a belief in the classical Christian doctrine of the Trinity--a
belief that, at the very heart of the universe, there is a relationship
of love, equality and interdependence. This belief leaves no place
for the supremacy of one race above another-- and insists that all
peoples belong to a global family. Michael Battle |
Concrete Spirituality I could not
survive at all if I did not worship, I would collapse. It is that basic for me--a veritable physical thing. Desmond Tutu |
